I got to use a lot of my favorite scale of colours, blue and greens. It was great to make pictures, but also quite hard and it required my fully concentration. Pictures started to live in my hands. I also used to read books about old porcellain figurines at that time. Their characters became uncovered in my unfinished works, specially in parts I didn't had stitched yet. The areas I didn't had stitched yet, where the fabric was shown forming white shapes, were occupying and surprising my mind. I had red about the porcellain figurines of Kändler and now the mouth of Kändlers shape of a monkey formed from parts of fabric,which were not sewed yet. It was quite wild, specially at night.
Recent times I have made my works with a help of computer, and the wild adventures of pictures have stayed in the background. The more primitive the process of the work is, the more rewarding and surprising the realization of a picture is. On the other hand the computer enables the use of several colours in a work, even if I don't have learned to mix colours by computer yet. I mixed colours spontaneously quite a lot in my works when I did everything by hand and didn't use computer.
Sain ylen määrin käyttää lempiväriskaalaani, sinivihreitä sävyjä. Kuvien tekeminen oli hienoa, mutta melko rankkaa ja täydellistä keskittymistä vaativaa. Kuvat alkoivat todella elää käsissäni.
Lueskelin tuolloin myös kirjoja vanhoista posliinifiguureista, joiden hahmoja paljastui keskeneräisistä töistäni, erityisesti kohdissa, joita en vielä ollut ommellut. Ompelemattomat kohdat, joissa näkyi pohjakangasta valkeina hahmoja muodostavina alueina askarruttivat ja hämmästyttivät mieltäni. Olin lukenut Kändlerin posliinifiguureista ja nyt Kändlerin apinahahmon hymyilevä suu muodostui ompelemattomista kohdista. Se oli aika hurjaa, varsinkin öisin.
Viime aikoina olen tehnyt töitäni tietokoneavusteisesti, ja hurjat kuvaseikkailut ovat jääneet taka-alalle. Mitä alkukantaisempi on työprosessi, sitä antoisampaa ja yllätyksellisempää kuvan toteuttaminen on. Toisaalta tietokone mahdollistaa useamman värin käytön työssä, joskaan en vielä ole opetellut värien sekoittamista tietokoneella, mitä harrastin melko paljon spontaanisti kuviani yksinomaan käsin tekemällä.

Christmas Moments
The joy is welling in my trees as powerful as a childs joy, which is both physical and psychical, movement, natural energy of a human being. I think to get to this mood only by sewing like painting direct on the fabric. The process, the way you are working leads you to a spring, to sources, which carry you away and gives possibility to discharge and canalize one's feelings and find similarity of the past and the present. That's why I think making a picture is repeating. It also includes a wish.
Ilo pulppuilee puissani voimakkaana kuin lapsen ilo, joka on sekä fyysistä että henkistä, liikettä, ihmisen luonnollista elinvoimaa. Luulen, että tähän tilaan pääsee vain ompelemalla maalaten suoraan kankaalle. Prosessi, tekotapa johdattaa sinut lähteelle, joka vie mennessään ja antaa mahdollisuuden purkaa ja kanavoida tunteet ja löytää samankaltaisuutta menneestä ja tästä hetkestä. Siksi minusta kuvan tekeminen on toistamista. Se sisältää myös toiveen.

Colourful Flowers
I made some drawings with a pencil from a model of flower arrangements and transferred drawing lines, shadows and colours to the fabric.
I took evening classes in drawing by free hand from a model. I also took classes in Ikebana, and my arrangements have influences of Ikebana, but they are not real Ikebana arrangements.
Piirsin mallista lyijykynällä joitakin kukka-asetelmia. Kävin silloin Työväenopiston kurssia, jossa piirrettiin mallista vapaalla kädellä. Kävin myös Ikebana-kurssia, joka vaikutti asetelmien tekoon, joskaan asetelmat eivät ole Ikebanaa.
Siirsin piirrosteni linjat ja varjot kankaalle ja lisäsin värit kukka-asetelmista toistamalla.

The Series Florals has influences of movements of body energy lines. I was practising some tai-ji movements and some meditation too and the tai-ji movements as well as the movement of meditation energies are transferred to the floating lines of flowers, leaves and rays.
Florals-sarjassa on vaikutteita kehon energiavirtojen linjoista. Harjoittelin jonkin verran tai-ji liikkeitä ja myös meditaatiota ja siirsin tai-ji-liikkeiden kuten myös meditaatiossa syntyvien energioiden virtauksia kukkien, lehtien ja säteiden linjoihin.
